I buy the Clover (Japanese-made) very thin pins; as for hand sewing needles, English-made ones from Atlanta thread. Very high quality, both.

I think I have a life-time supply of hand-sewing needles. ;-)

I believe that as China produces and sells more in the world marketplace, the quality will go up - it already has in some areas - and the standard of living and expectations will rise. It is that, and not war or saber rattling that will bring China into the "first world" and make them and their citizens a part of the life we enjoy in the 21st century.
Which is exactly what occured following WWII with Japan. It may take longer for China considering the huge population, but I do expect it will happen.

I have a bunch of those, too. All bought at estate sales. Likewise some very fine steel knitting needles, both straight and dp.

I now have both, the Clover Desk threader, and the little red one. I have test-driven both, and find the Clover works much better. I've also figured out why the little red ones turn up in old stuff without the white base - it's too bulky to fit in neatly in the box or basket, it's non-essential, and people probably just toss or lose the base. The Clover has no separating parts, which is a plus, too. But the bottom line is that it just works better.
Thanks for the follow-up. I am not opposed to owning multiples of the same tool (proof is in the number of scissors I have), but I think I may have hit on the better needle threader by lucky happenstance from the get-go.

I agree. You may now rest on your laurels.
My laurels are kinda prickly, may I use something else?

Sure, What did you have in mind? Those satin sheets are overrated, you know. You can easily end up on the floor, they're so slippery.

Very nice! And I see that MrRebates will give you 4% rebate, and have a bunch of coupons for Overstock to choose from. Free shipping among them. Use a credit card that pays you back, and you whittle the price down even more.
Ok, Ma'am, why have you never shared THAT site before??? Grrrrrr

Dunno, but if you register and give a certain email address as a referral, I get a teensy reward. CYE
