No Seams Great

I hadn't tried Seams Great, as I usually line my outer garments, but thought I might try it on a couple of woven blouses I have cut out. Went to Hancock's Fabrics, and couldn't find it. Yesterday, I was in the area of JoAnn's, so popped in there, couldn't find it there either. When I asked about it, the staff looked for where it used to be, then came to the conclusion that with the new rearrangement of the notions wall (as ordered by HQ) they must no longer be carrying it.

Oh well, I paid for the other odds and ends I had picked up, and loudly said "Just another item I will have to order online, I suppose".

I haven't looked in the stores recently for Seams Great, as I ordered a supply from either Nancy's Notions or Clotilde last year. But I do understand your frustration. did you check Wal-Mart? I know there are a few open on the West Bank in Greta, at least. I think Seams Great is made by Dritz and the last time I was in W-M, they had some Dritz items. All their stores, like Jo-Ann's and other chains, do not carry the same merchandise. I can not buy wooly nylon at the Jo-Ann's nearest my home, but drive 15 miles and it is abundant there. On the same subject, in October, I was in Plano, outside Dallas, and went to a Jo-Ann's to get a yard of of Trim-Tex to line a handbag. The clerks looked at me as though I was just off a planet ship from Mars or somewhere. They were very explicit when telling me, there was no such item made. I even talked to the 'manager on duty'. Neither did I find any at the local stores, either. either Jo-Ann's or Hancock's. Like you said, I found it online and now, DGD has a pretty bag of bright red glitter knit with a 20s Flapper hair band to match. The directions were in a book I have. Another reader of this group sent the fabric, which was perfect and DGD loves them. The only drawback is she has several little friends, who want bags & bands like hers; and DGD has apparently, told them she knew her Gramma would make a set for each of them. She is only 8-YO and has not been around any sewing since she was 2-YO, therefore has no ideas of the time, fabric, etc. involved in these projects. But being me, I will finish them by the time they are out of school for spring break, though not all will be red glitter knit, maybe pink or blue. Emilly

Thank you so much, but, it was really just a passing fancy. I had never tried it and wondered how it worked. I remember the first time I ever looked at a package it said that I could not use a hot wash or a hot iron, and that didn't seem to suit my style. I was just going to play with it. Obviously, I am supposed to get on with some real work rather than playing. I posted mainly as a "heads-up" to those who do use it.

Thanks again, Emily and Juno.
