More searching and I located them for $.35 each at:
Thanks again, you started me down the right path.
Beverly, who can shop for bargains... ;-)
I used "trouser no-sew hook and bar", but only came up with two uk sites. Thanks!

Uh, in the second row, first column, there is a took and eye that says, "clamp-on type" in the description.
Oops, my bad, missed that one entirely, you're right that's the one I seek. Thanks!

That link now returns (in addition to some online sellers) several archived links to my original query in giggle-grops and "sewgirls.com".
I really don't like the "sewgirls.com" site (you have to register to "...reply and use other advanced thread options". No Thanks!) Wish there were a way to delete my newsgroup postings from there.

the URL below lists a no sew hook and bar

If you posted from there, there is a possibility that they have it set up so you can to go in and delete your posts so they won't show on there, but as far as Usenet goes, deleting a post more than an hour or two after sending it is basically useless.
What I resent is that they are stealing my (and your, and everyone else's) posts, freely sent out over the Usenet, to promote THEIR private sales and advertisers. At the same time, they appear to be very selective about which posts they steal, leaving out all the spam and the trolls which we have to put up with.

I did not, and *never have*, "posted from [the sewgirls.com site]". Like google-groups, they archive Usenet posts. I intensely dislike their interface, their ads, their nasty habit of appending their site URL to massages, and their "You must join/register to use our tools" attitude.

Google-groups also archives Usenet messages which I don't mind so much, I just find the sewgirls.com site a mostly ad-filled, ugly site. And folks using that site to post messages apparently must allow the site URL to be appended to their messages. Even bad-as-they-are-google does not make that mistake.

Well, anybody who sends email from a Yahoo address gets a Yahoo ad at the bottom.
You might Google around and see how to use the X-Archive: No (or whatever it is) header to keep your posts from going to the Google archive. That would undoubtedly also keep it from going to *holding nose* sewgirls.
