Oh my goodness I can't wait!!!

I had to tell all y'all this one. I knew you would be the only ones as excited as me..

While back, DH came home and told me one of his co-workers would be bringing me "some fabric." I really like this gal he was talking about. Super sweet. I've done some sewing for her in the past. Crocheted blankies for her baby last year. (even made an extra blankie when she told me the first one was the only thing that would soothe him to sleep. lol) She's fun to do things for because she Appreciates it, know what I mean? And she does things back too. My deep freeze has a nice load of venison because she told her husband we love venison. ;)

Anyway, so she's a pal, and she knows I sew a lot. Her mom used to sew all the time, but has pretty much given it up. She is cleaning out her stash. My pal said "I know where your stash can go and be used joyfully and well." Then she told DH that she was bringing it to me. ;D

Here's the kicker.... Ready??

A lot of the stash is Whole Bolts. It's of all sorts of weights, hands and fiber contents. All kinda good stuff. :) (and maybe some stuff that won't be so good, but who knows.)

Ready for the almost scary part??? She asked DH at work the other day if we would be home today, Sunday, in the afternoon. He said we would as far as he knew. She told him "Oh good. I will be able to use my husband's pickup truck Sunday. So that way I can get all the fabric over there in one trip." OMG!!!! There is enough fabric she needs the truck to bring it!!!!! (It's a full sized truck too, an F-150 IIRC.)

I promise if there is anything in the haul that I don't Love immediately, I will let y'all know, and I will pass it along to whoever does love it. ;)

Can you believe that? A whole truck full. I am so going to write her mother a Thank You card. And I will see if there is something I can do for my pal out of the stash too.

It's like Christmas/My Birthday all rolled into one and I feel 6 years old all over again. ;)

Uh-oh, Sharon. I've seen the future for us! Can't you just see our own children, someday in the dim, hazy time, years from now, trying to unload OUR stashes!

You realize, of course, that with the addition of a TRUCKLOAD of fabric, you will no longer have any need to purchase fabric again. At least that's the way your DH will view the situation. And what are you going to DO with all that booty, storagewise?

Can't wait to hear the next installment of Sharon's Adventures in Stashland!

Oh, Sharon, yes indeed. If I weren't trying to reduce some of my stash, I'd be begging for your castoffs! ;-}

As it is, my kids are ready to strangle me every time I make another great-can't-leave-it-at-the-store find....

Karen, you are just a stinker. ;) Do keep in mind, dearheart, that you are close enough to swing over for lunch and a stash infusion. lol I figure I ought to have a will drawn up, that way I will have a say so in where my stash goes. lol

Cea, the shower sounds great. C'mon over. Bring an empty suitcase. ;)

Beverly, anything with dragonflies is earmarked for you! ;) Stash reduction, my foot!!! heh heh

I've already given this some thought. Anything I can't use, I will burn test a corner, take a digital picture and post a link. I can even likely get postage estimates. Of course it goes without saying that I will give a description of weight and hand as well as measure it all out. Then anything that looks appealing, I'd be happy to mail out to wherever if the person longing for it would be willing to reimburse me shipping. ;)

Never let it be said that I don't think of you all!! I know that I will be able to find loving homes for whatever I don't want to keep. lol

And as for storing it in the mean time....well DH is mudding the drywall in what was **supposed** to be the new office at this very moment. I figure if need be, that room can be converted to the new stash storage room. LOL!!!! Just don't tell him, 'K??? ;) Just got off the phone with my MIL. She said she was amazed I've not bounced myself out of my undies waiting for the Fabric Fairy to get here. LOL She understands me so well. I promised her anything with an elephant print would come her way. ;) She is a junkie like us, but has soooo much more self control than I will ever be able to muster. *sigh*

[innocent mode] Why, Sharon, whatever is wrong with your foot, dear? ;->

Seriously, fabric with dragonfly motifs welcomed, thanks!

Drool away! I'm having sympathy anticipation for you! I would LOVE for someone to "burden" me like that. I do have friends that bring me excess yarn from their stash, but so far not much in the way of fabric.

My will already covers the stash-some goes to a church back home for the ladies' guild that makes crafty things for their fund-raisers and some goes to the charities that make blankets and toys (after my daughter picks what she wants-already a budding fabricoholic).

A full size truck to get the fabric to you? OMG!! I can see why you're so excited! Do you have space to put it all?

My son, with whom I live, keeps telling me the same thing, i should open a fabric/sewing machine store, but he just acquired another guitar, #8. And I only have 7 sewing machines now that I lovingly gave one to a DN, who is thoroughly enjoying it. I have a huge bag of knits going to DD as soon as someone from here goes to Memphis. She received a 10-thread serger for Christmas and loves sewing knits. As soon as its on the way, I'll be shopping for more to fill the space. OH, Sharon, keep me in mind. Emily!
