OT:Merry Christmas

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas! May you stockings all be mended and hung by the chimney, waiting for Santa to fill them with all kinds of goodies. May your sewing machines be cleaning and running in tip top shape. May you fabric be beautiful, your patterns not need altering and may you always have the perfect matching color of thread so you don't have to run to by more at the last minute. I wish you sharp scissors and rotary cutters and pins galore.

Bill and I are leaving tomorrow to spend 7 days on Cape Cod with our youngest daughter and her family and our oldest daughter and her husband. Both girls have second homes on the Cape and are very generous with invitations for us to come and spend holiday time with them. We also will have a weekend here at our home with all our children and grandchildren sometime in January. Juno

Enjoy every minute of your time in sunny Florida. We will probably have low 40'sand rain. It doesn't matter though I'll just skip the beach walks the rest of the family will probably go on.

U. - Here, the air is burning, as usual, and I'm downsizing my to-do-list every day, making only those preparations that are essential for a halfway comfy holidays. More when things have calmed down.

Thank you, Juno. I'm so glad to know that you will spend the holiday at the Cape, I know how much you've enjoyed it in the past, and how wrenching it had to have been to give up your house there.

Thank you, Joan, for that terrific rendition of White Christmas!

For all of you, I'll include my favorite, which I've done before, and I hope to do again (Gawd willin' an' the crick don't rise.) I sort of look forward to this season, just to have an excuse to play it and share it.

We returned home about an hour ago. Christmas was lovely. Our 2 girls honored our wishes to keep gifts to us small and simple. They have a tendency to go overboard. I asked Bill to drive by the cottage, I figured I had to do it sometime, we have many summer friends out there. I was fine with that. My youngest daughter completely undid me though. She made a beautiful scrap book for us. It started the with a picture of the first time we took the children to see the house and ended the day before we closed. Of course I cried. Juno

She did an amazing job. It took her several months to collect the pictures from her sisters and brother. It's a real treasure for Bill and I.
