[OT] Mixed results on hip pain

Thanks, in all seriousness, there is a lot to think about. My DDs are fairly close, but daily or even weekly PT would be an imposition. I'll probably look into hiring taxis.

I was curious about how you managed to get 13 houses in a plane. I was thinking, "OK, Joanne is into miniatures (doll hoses), too...."

I have a couple dozen AG patterns, and several bits of small-scale prints in the stash. Oh, and the denverfabrics.com fleece is still awaiting my tender care.

I suggest we call ourselves TA.SMACCC = The Alt.Sewing Mercy And Chocolate Concuming Corps. You can even (almost) say it.

Seen some amazing recoveries - my friend had both done the same day and said that the am after the surgery she had less pain that she did the am before it!!

Sending pain free thoughts.

You'll see. After you get over the initial shock of the enormity of it all, you'll realize it's just a huge canvas.

It's both! They dug in the ground *under* the water.

Consider that we haven't heard from Kate yet. Doesn't she have a scanner that she was able to send Feds across the Atlantic with?

Oh Emily, the train goes on about 20 minutes more to Deland and you could stay a day or so with me when I am in FL. That is only 30 minutes away. Happy Day!! Barbara, now in SC

Nobody told me that I shouldn't drive after my C-sections, and I have always driven a stick shift. So I drove to my one-week checkups and all other necessary trips. I didn't take the family on a Sunday drive. I did fine. With the second, I lived in a two-story house, and I did eventually have a little trouble with running up and down the stairs, but I found that if I did it backward, it didn't wear me down quite as much.

Unless there's some reason not to drive, I would venture a guess that it's OK if you feel you can handle it. That means being able to step on the brake, perhaps hard, if necessary. If you ask, they will probably give you some long period of time not to drive because they always aim for the most conservative estimate.

When my cousin had her bypass, she was told not to move her hands outside of a small area in front of her body - the "strike zone." This was emphasized apparently because it's possible to pull things apart fairly easily. It made life difficult for her, she couldn't lift anything, she couldn't wash her hair or bathe, and had to rely on her husband and daughter for a lot of routine maintenance. But she was told there was a reason for this.

I sort of draw from this that if it's important that you not drive, the docs will tell you. You shouldn't have to ask. If you do ask, they'll likely tell you something like two or three months, which is probably much longer than you would find it necessary. This is my opinion, and I am not a doctor nor have I ever played one of television, so take that into account.

Beverly the problem with transportation arrives from the fact that even after a few weeks the physical therapist was concerned about DH's reaction time in an emergency situation. They wanted him to take a mild narcotic pain reliever before therapy sessions because it is a painful thing to do and they want you to have as little pain as possible and have muscles as relaxed as possible. Makes the sessions go better and the healing faster. I'm glad that your DGD did so well in her competition. You have to be one proud grandma. Also glad we could give you a few laughs. They never hurt anyone. Juno

But,but, but, Emily didn't you know that public transportation has little to do with the public and much to do with silly schedules thought up by some "suit" sitting in a huge office and plotting out ridiculous schedules in the so called name of efficiency. Efficiency my foot! Juno
