I hide things really well. ;)

That's the thought train I was on too. :)

Actually, gotta drink up the batch of something else first. LOL Oh darn!!! heh heh

I did get another half bushel of apples. Was so funny the guy who owns the orchard was there in the farm store. He asked me if I was going to make pies. I told him I might get one or two out of the apples but mainly I was going to make applesauce and then aplets. Well, he'd never heard of them. Right now I have a promise of more apples from him in exchange for a plate of aplets. LOL He said he would happily trade me more apples if I was just nice enough to bring him some of those. ;) I giggled all the way home about that one yesterday.

Now that's a good deal! Sharon,our resident bargainer. Smile pretty and get those apples. I'm having a hard time finding Jonathan and Jonagold right now. Me who lives in the Hudson Valley, also know as Apple Valley. What really gets me is that Jonathan Apples were developed in Woodstock ,NY and that's not to far from here. I think I'll have to take a ride up to Montgomery Place Farm Market and see if they have any. Montgomery Place is one of the many mansions in the area and they have orchards and their own Farm Market.

Hmmmm....I might have to ask you for the instructions. There's a bottle of vodka around here that I bought when my younger son broke his leg in three places, dislocated his foot, and had surgery to put in a plate with 13 screws. When they sent him home from the hospital, they had to step way back on the pain meds because of all the laws. I got it in case he was overwhelmed at like 3 A.M. because even though they say never to do it, I know that a small amount of beverage alcohol added to a pain reliever is effective. He was 18, and he'll be 32 on his next birthday, the end of November. The bottle was never opened. Maybe it's time to find a way to use it. ;-)

I'd have to find a way to hide them from MYSELF. ;-}

Sure, you make the rules about what goes on which shelf, you are entitled to bend them just a tiny bit.

I'm planning on using that one for my next summer party.

WooHoo! Way to go, although he's getting the better deal by far. ;-)

Yesterday DH and I went Apple Picking. Got 1/2 bushel of Jonagolds. Still can't find the Jonathans. I made a batch of Apple butter, no sugar, just added 6 ounces of apple juice concentrate. Oh, is that good. Very good apple flavor. This afternoon I plan on making applesauce so I can freeze some and also make some applets. MY house smells so yummy. Thanks Sharon and Beverly for the recipes. Juno

Jonagold work fine, I usually can't find Jonathans either..

You're welcome. Just remember, Aplets count as "candy", not "fruit" in the food pyramid.

If a President of the U.S. can declare ketchup is a vegetable, declaring aplets are fruit is a piece of pie.

With so many friends concerned about her nutritional needs, you'd think Beverly would be more appreciative, wouldn't you?
