After reading this thread, I tried to make apple butter in my rice cooker. Ended up with candied apple chunks -- I'm going to do that on purpose some time, and throw in some hazelnuts.
Then I cleaned the caramel syrup out of the rice cooker by cooking steel-cut oats with raisins and cinnamon, cooled to eating temperature with frozen blueberries.
I seriously admire your cleaning methods. I wonder if they would work in the slow cooker/crockpot?
It would if her rice cooker is like mine, which consists of an inner removable aluminum pot inside an outer steel one with a heating element.
