Hi We have to go to a Rocky horror fancy dress, anyone suggest costume ideas, my little drumsticks arent suitable to anything above the knee; nothing sexy for me. To be honest I cant stand fancy dress unless its 50s. Thanks Sandra

Rocky Horror is by definition over-the-top so why not do some type of extreme take on 50s? Such as a super-enormous crinoline?

I made a black ankle length tulle skirted frock for Rocky Horror many years ago... Looked like a black Pro Nuptia wedding dress! (We're talking mid 80's here!) Crepe corset style bodice with tulle skirt over just lining fabric, and added lace round the hem and the bodice frill... I made it originally to wear to an RAF Officer's Mess ball that just happened to be decorated a la Rocky Horror...It was elegant, with grey silk rose on bodice and in my hair, but a couple of years later I 'revived' it with big purple satin bows and purple & black striped tights, 2" nails (purple, natch!) and acres of purple eye make-up and hair spray! I was one of three members of staff that took a group of

15-15 YO boys to the show, and we were all dressed up. The boys LOOOOVED that dress! :D

That whole dress was made from scraps, and cost a total of £7 for the lace and the zips!

Well..you could do a really jazzed French Maid's outfit...with fishnets and such, pooffed out hair and what not (Magenta), or the demure PeterPan collared knee-length dress with cardigan (Janet)...um, don't think you want to go with Columbia's get up...althrough sequins do add a bit of fancy to just about anything.....hmm....RiffRaff wore a tux/tailcoat...Frank, no, that probably wouldn't go over well either..hmm...oh, and definitely NOT Rocky....gold trunks and not much else.....er...OH!!! You could do one of the Transylvanian party- goers....they wore tuxes as well, but with shirts of different colors (not white, but emerald green, dark blue satin, etc.)

Don't forget the guests at the Frankenfurter Mansion were wearing all kinds of crazy stuff. "off kilter quilter @somewherequiet.net" wrote in message news: snipped-for-privacy@n2g2000hse.googlegroups.com...
