OT: selling off my collection

I know we have some members that like to take Barbie dolls and recreate them into their own ideas. I am clearing out my collection that has traveled with me for over 20 years and thought, if anybody here wanted them, well, you know.

they are listed at Ebay, will get a link added later tonight, search by seller name Larisa72

Thanks,

Larisa, who doesn't see the point in holding on to 2 HUGE storage totes of anatomically incorrect pieces of plastic - especially when my DD already has her own collection

Are hers anatomically correct? ;-)

Beverly, who prohibited my DDs from having Barbies, but (and I *know* I'm a hypocrite, OK?) gave several to DGD....

My dd never had or wanted any Barbie dolls. She had a couple american girl dolls but that was about it. She just didn't get into the doll stuff. Grandma duty has different parameters than mom duty does.

Don't get me wrong, I gave DGD AG doll "Kirsten", too... ;-}

And made several outfits for her, with matching ones for DGD.

It's waaaaay more fun being a Grandmother. ;-)

Our oldest grandchildren are making me think that about being a great grandma :-(

A former teaching colleague of mine married a slightly older man who had grown up kids. Soon the first grandchild came along. My colleague said it was the greatest fun being a 'young granny' (she was in her late

40's). She'd have hated being a mum, but being a granny was brilliant! She got to spoil them rotten and hand them back when they got 'whiffy & iffy' as she put it! :D :D

Her step-kids had wondered about their dad marrying again (I think his first wife had died), and weren't to keen at first, but they soon learned to value her granny skills!

I was almost 38. I couldn't have done it a decade later, not with the fibro... Just glad we got one perfect one, and thank god for him every day!

Enjoy it!

James 'met' his very proud great granny when he was 8 weeks old. Unfortunately he never met her again. She went that Christmas, aged 91. I'm sure you'll be around to see a lot more of yours!

it was a bit of a surprise, but he's lots of fun. of course now he's 7 & wants a sister... we're thinking of looking into adoption, but since i'm older i don't know if we'll qualify. i don't think fostering would work. Boo would hate to give a sibling back... lee

I wouldn't buy them for my DD, but she got her Dad to cough up whenever she visited him. She got what she wanted and I didn't have to pay. He didn't like them either apparently, but she had leverage.
