Must have been to allow the dog to get in some fly fishing while they were retrieving.

Under the right circumstances (or the wrong ones) any dog will bite. It has much less to do with breed than it does how the dog was raised and socialized.

ah! makes sense now ;) do you fly fish? i've been saving the hackle feathers off the roosters, but i don't know if my eyesight is good enough to tie flies anymore... do people still use roo hackle feathers for flytying anymore anyway? i suppose they'll end up in either a doll costume or a collage if they don't become flies... lee

Doubtful. If you've ever tried to eradicate or even contain wild roses you'd know that in the event a nuclear disaster, cockroaches and wild roses would rule the earth.

No, don't fish at all, but might consider it for backpacking.

You could come to my job and collect all the hackle feather lying around my desk. Should be easy to see. I believe some of them are radioactive.

No wonder they spit.

are you moulting? radioactive is fine. i collect radioactive glass :)

Perl doesn't spit. she might sneak up behind you & blow in your ear though. her Mom, Sally, used to be a bit spitty, but i trained her not to. usually they only spit at each other when someone is getting too pushy at dinnertime. if the herd order is overstepped, the offender gets spit at. usually that's Russian. he's the dumbest llama i've ever met. he's seriously stupid. however, he stands still for his haircuts... lee

Would I have to follow her anywhere?

Why didn't you name one of them Dolly?

Does llama wool make good cloth? I know alpaca is wonderful... Nosey female needs to know! ;)

They make terrible Twinkies. They make other sweet things, but they are about so bad that you have to force them down your throat. Thus the origin of the term "Ram a Llama Ding Dong".

hope this helps.

I've never seen a mean boxer. yea, any dog can be backed into a corner, but boxers just don't go there naturally.

oh, yeah... you mentioned retail. BTDT, ran out of ways to drive my DM up the wall, so i quit.

yep. it's called vaseline glass. glows green under black light. i like cobalt glass too.

i don't think so. she doesn't like going for walks. my older girls like to go out for walks (especially over to the pond) once you get them haltered... they're just not terribly cooperative about haltering. that's my fault. i don't do it often enough.

it's too overdone. the farm i bought my momma llamas from raised llamas & dalmations. they were called Dal E Llama. my crias were named after networking stuff: Perl, DNS & Cisco. the mommas are Junifer & Mustang Sally. Russian Roulette was supposed to be a stud, but stupidity is hereditary, so he's gelded ;)

depends on the llama. some have finer fleece than alpacas, but most are a bit coarser. i think it would weave into a nice coating type cloth. it felts beautifully, which is what i now prefer doing with it. it spins nicely, but unless mixed with wool, it's less than satisfactory to knit with. lee

No, more likely to jump a 6' fence and run away... Next door's did that here several times! We caught their soppy objects hiding in our garden several times over the years they had them.

One place we lived when I was a kid the next doors has a beautiful boxer. She was tan and white. She jumped the fence to greet my dad every morning when he went out to view the garden before going off to work. She'd hop over, say hello, and hop back, happy as can be! Never jumped the fence any other time of the day, either! Cute pooch, but daft as the day is long...

No! I'd end up wanting one, and we truly don't have the space! Someone over Canterbury way has llamas, alpacas, Highland Cattle and Jacob's sheep. They also have donkeys and some sort of goats in the paddocks... I don't think they have Soay sheep, but I like them too.
