Pajama pants? now I know

I've wondered for some time why folks were bothering to stitch pajama pants when they surely could be bought ready-made for just a few dollars. Wrong. Waiting for the computer to sift and sort the mail, I turned through a catalog of rather ordinary underwear and sleep wear. Saw a cute idea for an around the house sort of garb. There's a denim blue very plain t-shirt and a pair of pajama pants with polka dots about the size of . . . well, can't think of anything that size . . . anyhow, Big polka dots. Thought to order the set. The pajama pants alone are priced at $32. Plus, of course shipping and tax. Good grief. For my size (skinny old lady), there would be less than 2 yards of fabric and a little elastic involved. Okay. I can make my own and now I know why. Polly

Definately do - they're so easy to make, and fast, too.

You'll be so cute in them :)

My husband would like a pair. The "fleece" he would like me to buy is a print licensed by the NFL; it's about $10 a yard!!

I just sent a pair of fleece pj pants to my son in law in South Lake Tahoe in a race car print. I had made my daughter a couple of pairs to wear after knee surgery (both knees but one at a time) and ended up making her 3 more as she wanted pockets. She's thin but tall and usually buys a large to try and get them long enough. She liked having the ones made to actually fit her that her husband asked if I would please please make him some too. The hardest part is getting the pattern adjusted and traced. The actual cutting and sewing go pretty quickly, especially if you do a serged on elastic waist.
