pants tucking in

hallo group,

I have to tuck in my pants in the waist. Could you help me, please . My problem is how to take 6 cm's in.. I have flat tail, there are pockets on the back anyhow. It is a wide model having another pockets in the side. How to tuck in 6 cm's, is it possible to do it dividing it in 4 parts(1.5 cm each)? There are 2 tucks in the front, but not too deep, shall I make another 2 on the side of them, deeper(3cm each)?

Hi Susan, I think if you already have two pleats or darts in the front (I always understood tucks to be stitched down the whole way down so I doubt you will want two of those type of tucks in the front of your pants), two more pleats or darts would be very nice looking, unless you really need the extra space in the back. if so, I would take it out in the center back seam to save you having to mess with the pockets, and only take

1.5cm in each front pleat, or move it all around back if needed. it really is a matter of where the extra fabric will do you the most good.

Now, If you want rid of fabric from the whole hip and thigh area, take it out of the side seams.

Hope this helps, Kitty, in Pennsylvania
