Pattern Mags

Ok, first off no flames, second I am typing with a broken arm- therefore no sewing (right arm of course), but am learning to peck=pretty good don't ya think :0) Anyhoo- I want to extend an offer NOT FOR PROFIT- if anyone is intereseted in the following mags that are available in Italy (France and Spain at elevated costs). I would be happy to buy when I buy my copy and send to you with the shipping (I'm nice not rich). These are great for the novice, adventurous or multi lingual. They are similar but advant garde from Italy (Milan has replaced Paris as the forefront to fashion- probably by a nanosecond but 1st is 1st. eh?) Anyhow I'm an American living overseas for the past 5 years due to DH job and am going to take the same risk and while crossposting the same offer. You can see how pricey they are by this website

they are similar to Burdamag patterns in that theyrequire tracing and seam allowances, you do need toeither be able to sew without instructions or be ableto speak Spanish,French or English. The best Euro is also available in Italy- Modellina 3.99, (Belgium

7.00,Spain 5.85). La Mia Boutique 4.10 (Belgium 8.50, Germany 10.00, Austria 9.10, spain 6.35) again those are Euro so the price would be about $10 us for about 30 patterns women and men- these are very avant garde and a bonus is sometimes you get a casa project or knitting/crocheting/craftsy thing. They do have a few plus sizes too and even a special mag that is only plus sizes if that all you want. Anyway if you have a body type that has been describes as "European" bigger arms and thighs, shorter stature and bigger bust- these are pretty cool. I also pick up one tri-monthly called Atlier which just debuted. If you are interested, I'd be happy to pick them up when I pick mine up. Ciao, Michelle

I didn't really see why she should be reported. She was just offering to send people magazines if they sent her what they cost. Maybe it was an ad and I just have a terrible hangover and 2 hours sleep...

Thank you Charlie, it was not an "ad" and since they originate here in Italy they are less expensive than anywhere else. Ciao, Michelle

I don't get why people are so quick to jump on new posters on this newsgroup. Did anyone jump on you when you first posted? I say let everyone have a "first post", and if necessary, explain the rules to them, but don't be so quick to be so unfriendly and downright aggressive. This used to be the friendliest ng on the planet. Not any more. Karen Maslowski in Cincinnati

I noticed it's only a few curmudgeons. I always felt bad for the OT posters or the newcomers on this list. I hesitated making the offer forever because of just this sort of thing. I was going to offer some great/must see fabric places over here but don't want to risk "them types" thinking I'll prosper in some way. Michelle Italy

Re: Pattern Mags

Think of it like this: Here we are, having a sewing party, minding our own respective stash, chatting amicably for the most part, rendering aid where possible, when, suddenly, WHAM!!! the door to the Sewing Room flies open, and in staggers a belligerent drunk, clutching a six-pack, demanding that we stop what we are doing and As at any party, reactions vary. Some folks back off, some react. Sometimes, anyone who even looks as if they are holding a beer is going to get tossed out on their ear, especially if we haven't been formally introduced to them and aren't acquainted with their sewing prowess. All I can add is, drop the imitation ale and pull up a sewing chair. Cea

Exactly my feeling on the subject, thanks, Cea. If everyone with internet access thought, "Gee, what _I_ have to sell/offer/push isn't really _spam_ because it's _ME_ offering it", and no one made an effort to stop them, the newsgroups and e-mail would die. Don't believe it? Go read news.admin.net-abuse.email for a couple of days.

On the other hand, I may have over-reacted to the OP of this thread. If so, I apologize. However, when I read a post that begins "Ok, first off no flames,...", and goes on to ask folks if they want issues of magazines (with which the OP may or may not be affiliated, she/he didn't offer a disclaimer), it raises alarm bells.
