Pattern Review

I purchased Kwik Sew #3297 to use for the Malden Mills fleece, but I'm very disappointed with the pattern. The sleeve pattern is *half* of a sleeve, to be cut on the fold, which means it is not shaped properly for the front and back of the sleeve cap. I will draft a new sleeve, but I would not have bought this pattern if I had looked inside at the instruction sheet and seen how it was drafted. Unfortunately, the pattern envelope is sealed, so one cannot look at the instruction sheet prior to purchase.

I probably will pass on Kwik Sew patterns in the future as I wasn't all that satisfied with the one I used (#3181) for the dressy top either. I basically used the KS pieces to alter the hem and CB seam of a Vogue pattern which I have used several times and knew fit well.

JMHO,

Beverly

Beverly, I would suggest you write to Kwik Sew and tell them why you dissatisfied with their patterns. Unlike the big three they have responded to me when I had a specific complaint. they offered me a pattern of my choice when I told them a pattern piece was printed backwards. I would be very specific in your complaints and see what kind of answer you get. Juno

I will probably try to do that, although I was totally unimpressed with either of these patterns, so may not ever use them again.

That's all the more reason to write. They are small enough to care about why they are losing a customer. Juno
