Way back, about a million years ago I made drapes for my bedroom. Yesterday my DGS set me up with my own web page. Now I can finally display one picture of the drapes and a couple of throw pillows I made for my bed.

Thanks, I love it and tried to call the place I bought it at for my daughter a few weeks ago, found out they went out of business a couple of months after I bought it.

The tragedy of our times: small, non-chain businesses closing. The mom & pop model is a thing of the past.

Good work!! Those look very nice, I like that fabric too. And I'm proud of you for figuring out how to put things on there. Always good to learn new things. :)

It really got to me. I've used this place several times. They had so much fabric and great prices. The sales we the best. I bought 20 yards of Waverly fabric, 20 yards of thermal lining, both on sale and paid about $115.00 total. Juno

Glad you enjoyed them. I guess I learned well, from an excellent tutor. Juno

It's a print. I fell in love with it when I saw it.My embroidery skills are not up to that kind of work and if it was hand done I never could have afforded to buy it. Juno

I house-sat for friends for several months a long time ago. She had narrow drapery panels at each side of a large window, hand embroidered with a similar design. I really admired those panels. What with commercial embroidery machines, that look could be reproduced today, but it would still cost the earth.

Thank you Kate. The room is very large so I knew it could handle the pattern. I try very hard to keep everything in the house as simple as possible. Juno

What a gorious pattern! And I love what you have done with the drapes/curtains. With a busy pattern, keeping the drapes plain in style really works. And the cushions are a nice touch.

That pattern reminds me of some (reconstructed) Elizabethan bed curtains I've seen once in a museum house in - I think it was Sheffield. Really nice, the busy pattern with the plain room. And I agree with Kate, the plain style goes best with the whole ensemble.

Thank you Ursula, years ago I had made something similar for my kitchen, used them for years and finally passed them along to my mother who also used them for years. She finally had to get rid of them because they wore so thin from cleaning. I think that between the 2 of us they probably had 25 years of use. Juno

Isn't that the truth?? When we first got the DVD player, the kids had to teach me how to use it. ;)

You are too kind, really. ;) I have a little stretch left to go between the walkway and the patio. Too wet today. Got over 2" of rain in the last 2 nights. So it will have to dry out a little before I can finish up out there....oh darn. ;)
