I just added pictures of the fleece throw and sweatjacket I embroidered for my DGS:

projects! I had to remove the zipper, so when I put it back in I changed thread colors at the logo. The throw is edged with wooly nylon, but my Huskylock with differential feed was not working so I had to use my old Bernette. I'm not crazy about the wavy edges. Now one of DGS's friend's mother has contracted for a throw for her son (for Dartmouth!). ;-)

Those both look very professionally done. Good work!

That's a remarkably polished job!

Thanks! The design on DGS's throw fit within my large hoop:

9.375" X 5.375". I'm working on a design now for DGS's friend, my first attempt at a multiple hoop design. It will be 16 inches wide, and use five hoopings. Pics later, the fleece is on its way.

Thanks! I find the entire process a ton of fun. Have you unboxed your XL5000 yet? ;->

I've done multiple hoopings (not more than three though) on my Brother 6x10 hoop. It's not as impossible as I thought it would be to get them lined up pretty good!

Actually, it's an XL-6000. Does that mean I have more time? Mary wants me to learn to weave baskets....... Oh, the machine is on the cabinet with my 401A inside. I just need a light, a chair, some elbow room and some ambition........

The PSW software has some neat tricks for making the design segments align, but the manual is awful and the "help" is almost no help at all. I finally just dove in and figured it out. I have a 16" wide text of "DARTMOUTH" which I'm going to split into two parts, put "1796" and "Carpe Diem" below that, and finally the young man's name below that. All centered in the middle of the throw I used a built in "Campus" font for the college name, but everything else is individually digitized in a font (Bembo) which is similar to what Dartmouth uses on their web site. That was a lot of manual digitizing, but I am learning new techniques all the time, and I love it. ;-)

Mommy, Joanne is one-upping again!!!

More than what? You've had that machine at least as along as I've had mine IIRC.

So what are you doing on the computer? Get at it, girl! ;-þ

Thanks! I am debating making one up for as a gift the young man who will be going to Dartmouth. Fortunately, he likes pullovers, so I would not have the whole removing-and-replacing the zipper to contend with.
