Ping@all the 'girls'

OK, I'll have to gather this into one message because time is, once more, scarce.

@ Juno: Never mind for chiming in late; not as late as my pics, I'd say. ;-) And praise is always welcome. ;-> And I know exactly what you mean; when I was still a cabinetmaker, whenever I couldn't come to work due to migraines, the guys would say I'd been boozing. Really, it's as bad or even worse than the hysterical female thing. Fortunately, in recent years some men have had their 'coming out' migraine-wise, too, so now suddenly the illness is treated seriously. And we won't open that keg now, as my godmother says.

@ The Fellow Migraine Sufferers: I used to think it was stress that caused mine. However, the longest time I was completely without attacks were the first three months at Dusseldorf Polytechnics. I was so busy but happy. Then everything was back to normal. I used to think it was certain foods, but whenever I thought I had found the culprit I was wrong. Partners have nothing to do with it (if it was that easy! Hehehe, Pogonip, good riddance of two evils at the same time!) Kid is still too small, can't give her away! Well, with the support of the homeopath lady I'm currently down to a couple of days at 'that time of the month' in various intesities. This one was fairly mild but annoying, the one before that had me down for two days without food and just some water to make the retching less painful. OK, enough details. I really hope that it'll all go away when I'm beyond my reproductive years, but until then...

@ Kate: I had downloaded Child's Play from WG and guess what! A few days later, some Karen of WG sent me a rather personal email asking why I was interested in 'computerized pattern making' and where I'd heard about them. I felt free to tell them the entire story of The Dress and our cooperation, and I included links to your website and our wedding pics. Oh, and as for pics of DD in her dress, I actually found some on DH's computer, just got to get them out of there. I'll mail you the real stuff in all its megabytetical glory some time later. Since you're so busy with Regency and other stuff, I dont think you're in any hurry to update your website.

And why am I again in a hurry? Remember that cat bite? Well, antibiotics didn't help, it's still red and swollen, so they'll have to cut it open again on Thursday, big time this time, with no food and anesthesia and all that, though as an ambulant thing. This will very likely mean that I'll be back to the cast for some time, and now I'm busy gettting as much washing done as possible and getting the household chores done as well as I can. Today we did some major rummaging in the cellar, and DD is at my DSIL's where she'll stay until Thursday afternoon. Clear path, but I sorely miss her. So there, no time for sewing chat. Keep your fingers crossed for me, it worked so nicely when I had my foot done. ;-)

Love to you all,

U.

Oh, Ursula, that is too bad! I hope the surgery goes well, and is successful and they are able to cure the infection. Best wishes!

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes; I'll take them with me when I'm going in a couple of minutes. Heart is beating quite in my throat but I hope and am confident that it'll be better in the end. Will read you as often as possible; your sewing chatter cheers me up so much (hehehe, 'innocent'! Beverly, Joanne, you made my day!;-))

So glad to be of service. If you hadn't heard, Beverly and I did not win break-out comedy duo of the year in the People's Choice Awards. Can't figure that out.

The only possible explanation is that it must have been a fraudulent ballot process. I think Lady Gaga stole all the ballots cast for us....

You mean that Cher look-alike?

She wishes. I'm no Cher fan, but LG is not even close.

Cher did it first, did it better. Fashion. Always goes in cycles.

Well, there's no justice in this world, and real beauty and taste are rare, too. But perhaps it'll cheer you up that, thanks to your smile-inducer, I was awake and cheerful in no time at all after surgery. They also forgot to give me the usual premedication of Rohypnol which might have helped a lot, too. And, best news of all, no cast, just a big bandage on the finger. Yesterday, I had a chance to look at the wound and it looks OK; lots of stitches, but that won't scare a sewing girl. ;-) No antibiotics, no drainage. And the tip of the finger feels much better (had been numb before). They didn't find any pus, only some degenerated fat cells, but did a thorough rinsing along the sinew anyway. Perhaps it'll heal better now. Thanks for your crossed fingers and good wishes (keep 'em crossed a little longer so that the healing and mobilisation process goes well; that is, if you can spare 'em with all your sewing). ;-) Kate, thanks for the ((((()))))!

U. - going back to the couch to enjoy the snowstorm from within with a nice cuppa.

I'm happy to know all went well and we'll continue to keep the fingers crossed and say our prayers till we know it's all healed.

Speaking of snow, we didn't have any here in Houston, TX; this time Florida Got their share and ours, as well.

That is excellent news! I'm sure it was because of everyone here on alt.sewing putting in a word for you with the sewing goddesses to look after you. ;-) It's also great that they haven't loaded you up with a lot of medications to work out of your system, I suspect that will help in your recovery. It's sounding really good!
