Pocho making ideas needed,please

I was ask to make a poncho for a friend of a friend. The lady uses a wheelchair and needs assistance with taking her coat on/off. So I was thinking of making a cape type poncho with side opening for arms, but not really any type sleeves, for easier on/off. Also. I'm considering just fringing it all around with a cape type front opening. I need a idea of measurements for fabric needed ,along with any directions on how to make/assemble. I am considering using a fleece blanket type fabric and need information on a good fleece(warm) store/web site.

Dear Dave, If she is in a wheelchair don't use fringe or it will get caught in the wheels! It'd be better if you bound it with a sewed in bias tape. golden50

DaveS stood on a soapbox and shouted to anyone who would listen :

depends on what news program you are using. IF it's outlook express, you go to the news account, and change the display name.

Hi,

The properties on your post show: X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1158 so click: Tools|Accounts|News tab |Properties and change the name from "DaveS" to "Whatever-you-want-to-appear-as". But be aware that if Dave posts to newsgroups from the same computer, he will show up as "Whatever....", unless he changes the settings.

Another way to accomplish this is to establish two "identities." Go to File|Identities|Add New Identity| and follow the instructions. I don't like that option, because it entails setting up passwords, etc. Our solution was to have two computers, networked to the same internet account.

This is off topic for alt.sewing, if you want further information, send me an e-mail. Be sure to delete the spam-busters in my address. HTH,
