Prepleated fabric

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking for an on-line source for a prepleated fabric in turquoise. The pleats need to be permanent. It needs to be a dressy fabric, an organza or an opaque fabric, but not a cotton. It is to go on the sleeve cuffs and hem area of an Irish dance dress I'm helping to design and then sew for the dancer.

If I can't find such a fabric, I guess I'll try to locate a Perfect Pleater and see if I can set pleats into a polyester or similar man-made fabric.

You might try searching on "pre-pleated organza trim". A while ago, someone on the SewBiz list asked about black pleated organza, and I found this site:

Your request does not provide sufficient information to even try to make a search. What *fiber* do you want your "100% organza" made from???

My dearly beloved will attest that's me on a good day....

Now relaxing at the computer coz there's nothing on the box that appeals. A couple of glasses of a rather good antipodean shiraz at the end of an unseasonably warm spring day, hoping for a couple more and the pool should be up to temperature. The pool has to be about 90F these days before we go in, but it does seem to do my back some good for a little while.

I appreciate your sincere effort in steering someone (in China, or at least wanting delivery to China) looking for a source of "pre-pleated cheer organza fabric" to look for it in India, but really, wouldn't Indonesia be better (or at least closer)?

Sure. I just don't have any experience with Indonesian textiles, but I notice that many of the things in my closet came from India.
