any suggestion for the shine ...highway lol that my presser foot leaves on the fabric? I don't use heavy pressure.

You might like to try a Teflon foot.

I was using the standard zig zag foot I have in my singer and the fabric was a stretch poly-cotton, (very ravelling)! What is a Teflon foot? :>

It's a foot with a Teflon bit on it that goes next to the fabric. You can buy stick-on bits for some feet...
As for the fabric marking - I think you are just unfortunate. Try lighter presser foot pressure, sewing more slowly, or using a walking or roller foot.
