putting a brother xl-3200 in an old sewing table?

My wife got her mother's sewing machine, a brother xl-3200 which although a few years on it apparently is fairly decent. She's gotten an older sewing table from her grandmother, which had what looks like a

30-40 year old sewing machine mounted in it. The sewing machine mounted to a hing so that it would swing down out of the way, and the table top could flip over to hide the hole. I was able to take that old machine out fairly easy. But the XL-3200 appears to be some kind of table top design, with no mount holes in it for a swing down sewing table. My wife says the table is a very standard design and there should be some way to mount even a newer machine into the table. Anyone got ideas? Are there some kind of mounts that will add holes to the side of the xl-3200 so that the hinges will screw in? Or is this sewing machine/table pair an impossible dream?

The only way is to modify the cabinet and install a shelf at the correct height for the work surface, but you still will not be able to close it up.

Not sure this is what will work but I've got an 80s-era Kenmore that, according to the book, would either go into a carrying case or a table - and the machine doesn't have hinge pins. The base of the case connects to the bottom of the machine via three screws (the machine is a free-arm). And from what I can tell from the manual, there would have been a similar type of connection with a cabinet. Now, Perhaps your machine can be set in a cabinet in a similar way, obviously it would have to hold the weight of the machine....
