question about fabric

I have a load of sample fabric books from drapries, bedcovers and the likes. Does anyone have a suggestion of what I can do with these pieces? Something where I could make some money would be nice.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you many have.

A quilt.

You don't say how large the samples are. One yard each sample, 3 yards each sample or just scraps?

What did you have in mind to make?

Dear Transandjunk,

I'm assuming that the pieces you have are headents--about 18 x 12. I used mine for handbags; a quilted vest; pieced pillows--all would be good moneymaking projects.

I took a class with someone who made a quilted Sweatshirt Jacket with upholstery samples. She cut the pieces in 4x4 squares. It was really lovely. Our instructor said she charge around $200.00 to make jackets like this for other people. Here's a link

It's a lot of fun to do and goes fast when you use a rotary cutter, I used a fabric glue stick instead of spray glue because the sprays bother me. If you have a even feed foot it goes even faster. You can see though why someone would charge $200.00 though because it is a labor intensive project. Juno
