What's everyone up to?

It's suspiciously quiet here so I am supposing you are all heads down and creating.

I have been making reversible hoodies for my stall with a lovely lot of polar fleece that arrived the other week. I am also trying to think about Christmas gifts. any ideas for my Niece

12 going on 20 would be appreciated. She didn't much like what I made her 2 years ago, no complaints I could just tell from her face when she opened it, it was a furry gilet.I purchased last years gift but thought I might try and make again this year. Brave or mad? not sure.

I am going to do a dressing up set for my great nephew. he has a pirate obsession going on which has inspired me.

Any ideas for adult women, I am at a loss.

I'm currently apparently on a jacket kick... just finished a pattern for a rain jacket for my husband, and I need one, too. Then I've got a piece of large paisley pinwale corduroy that's calling out to me that it wants to be a coat, but I need to find a matching solid for it first. And a couple of pieces of ultrasuede that are likewise telling me they're really jackets.

In the meantime, I need some winter shirts, so I'm working on them.

Hold your applause, it's a more complicated job than I first thought. ;-}

Sounds terrific. I especially like the sound of paisley corduroy.

It was one she tried on while shopping for her prom dress. She chose another very pretty gown, but I thought she should have this one (she will *need* a spectacular performance gown ) so I purchased it for her as part of my graduation gift to her.

I revised my plan: After removing the self binding they used for the hem from the front and carefully removing sequins at and below the new stitching line, I realized they had cheaped-out and hemmed the back by stitching right *through* the sequins (they had not at on the front), which made the back hem really nasty. So I removed the rest of the binding, and carefully removed all the sequins below the stitching line, re-applied the binding (I had to make some additional binding, I used the cut-off from the front), turned up the new hem and hand stitched it in place. I am now replacing random sequins at the new bottom edge, I saved as many as I could.

A job I probably would not do for anyone other than DGD. ;-D

Which reminds me of the "monkey vest" Terry Moore made for Lotte Verbeek, who plays Geillis Duncan in Outlander.
