red felt discs?

Good thoughts, though a little late, from here, too. Old age and loneliness are terrible things, espescially if combined. Fortunately she isn't all alone, but did she ever think about getting an emergency button to call for help in case of an - emergency? You haven't mentioned her since, is she better by now?

I want to thank everyone for their prayers. Ursala, she has an emergency button; the fist time she fell, she tried to use it, the thing, for some unknown reason, didn't work, so she but-scooted across to the phone. That was on Monday morning, before her housekeeper arrived{the woman comes two afternoons weekly}.

On Friday, when she fell the 2nd time, her 21-YO DGD was sitting in the reclliner next to her, she called 911 and the medics came very quickly.

I spoke at length with Fleta yesterday and she seemed in good spirits, although she still can't walk at all or even sit for very long. We're all very thankful though, she did not break any bones. She's getting 4-hours therapy daily and that will continue for some time. Her DGD is still there and her oldest DD, from Denver, is also with her.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. Her doctor informed both her and the daughter, who is with her, this morning that after being released from the hospital, she will be in the hospital's swing-unit for intense therapy several weeks. Afterwards, she will not be allowed to return home until arrangements are made for someone to be with her 14/7 for the rest of her life.

She is 5 years younger than me and is fiercely independent; I have no idea what sort of effect this had on her when told. My siblings & I are taking turns calling her daily and communicating between ourselves by e-mail &/or phone. I will talk to her tomorrow.

She will need even more prayers now to get through this set-back, as will her daughters, who all live out of state, LA, TX and CO, all with children, some still in school and husbands with careers where they live.
