remaking store bought t-shirts

I read somewhere on the net or in a magazine about a method for remaking store bought t-shirts so they make a more flattering fit. Of course, now that I want to do that I can't find the info. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Was it the one with the tucks in the shoulders for when the shoulder seam is dropped too far?

What don't you like about the fit? There are lots of things you can do to make them more flattering.

Here are two links that should help. The Cat Morley one is very basic. What the Craft is more adventurous.

I second whatthecraft.com, I have looked over the website many times and even used some of the tutorials (although not the t-shirt ones, I just "go for it" with those. The circle skirt tut is especially good even for someone like me who hates math with a passion.

Also go to

and look under clothing, reconstructed projects, and there are lots of ideas there too.

Thanks everyone.

Phædrine: the pattern I'm talking about was how to make neck adjustments and side seam adjustments etc. to make a cheap mans t-shirt into a more fitted women's t-shirt.

Sharon: that's exactly what I want to do make a large, wide t-shirt more flattering to my body.

Thanks for the links everyone I'll check them out.

I recently ordered a pattern from

after reading an article in, I believe, Threads magazine. It's called T-Shirt makeover and is numbered 103. Unfortunately, I haven't worked with it yet so can't comment but it does look promising. NAYY.
