Results of DGD's dance today

We drove from PDX to Seattle, six-hours+ round trip, and spent 4 hours on a hard pew watching DGD dance today, her first competition since Nashville in July.

I'm thrilled that DGD medaled (two seconds and a third place) in the three dances she entered. She couldn't do the sword dance due to a very sore foot. And her kilt fits much better following a minor alteration.

Yay!!! Marvelous. Hope the foot feels better soon. Was this a dance or soccer injury?

Another good job by DGD dancing and Grandma for getting a better fit in the outfit. Juno

Long drives can be such a pain. Not long after Igot my driving licence, I took DA up to Denmark where she wanted to stay with my parents. We split the journey into two, with an overnight stay near Hamburg, but I was so high on adrenaline that wasn't able to sleep properly for two nights. Adrenaline is no longer the prob after four years, but still, you tend to get a bit weary.

Good to hear your DGD did so well, but it's a pity that her foot got in the way. What is it, a blister or something more serious? If it's something with her tendons she'd better give it a good rest, or she'll end up like me. ;-> BTW, what was the problem with her kilt?

Thanks! She has pain in the ball of one foot. She has been seeing a PT for it, I don't know whether it was caused by dancing or soccer, or maybe the combination. It's a shame, because she might very well have placed well in the Sword too, and I love watching her dance that one.

Thanks! We celebrated by stopping in south Seattle for a nice dinner. the place was packed which delayed our drive home, so we drove home in a blinding rainstorm. But all is well. ;-)
