Sewing bathing suits

Hi everyone, I'm new to this so bare with me. I'm trying to make bathing suits but have no idea where to begin. I've done endless research on bathing suit construction but can't seem to find anything. I have so many questions and was hoping someone could help me out.

Go to a used bookstore and look for the old pink-covered Stretch & Sew book by Ann Persons. It covers making bathing suits very well, and there are some good S & S patterns for suits.

Threads Magazine has had articles on making swimsuits in the past.

KwikSew has a very nice book that covers the topic pretty well, plus it includes basic patterns -- it's called Kwik-Sew's Swim and Action Wear:

tough parts tend to be finding chlorine-resistant fabrics if you'regoing to be swimming in a pool, and chlorine-resistant elastic. I canfind both locally at Fabric Depot in Portland, OR -- I'm told their mailorder service is good, but I haven't tried it. snipped-for-privacy@fabricdepot.com if you want to inquire about a product. Very little of their massive stockis online.

FWIW, instead of lining, I tend to use another layer of the outer fabric. Seems to last much longer.
