Sewing room downsized to nothing (moving)

Well, it looks like we are moving to another area in our city, and its much smaller than our house we are in now.

We have now 3 bedrooms on the 3rd level, living areas on the main and a full basement (unfinished). We are moving to a two level townhouse with 2 bedrooms and bathroom in the basement, and living area on the main floor.

So instead of having my basement set up like a little workshop, I am going to have my ONE sewing desk beside the fridge.........ACK!

LOL its not so bad though, there is a huge island in the kitchen, just right for cutting on, and it has storage underneath and a plug in on the side. And I will probably get more done because my kids can play in the living room while I sew. Its all one great room on the main floor. I will survive......... The whole house is brand new so thats nice, I have never lived in a brand new house!

We are moving because there are problems with this house and the landlord wont fix them, and also because we will save money in the smaller house to put towards bills and eventually the down payment on a house of our own. My grandparents live a few blocks away from the new place and thats great too! We will be moving at the end of september, but no worries, the computer will be one of the first things set up!

I will have to put up pics when I get some!

Michelle - congrats on your upcoming move. The house may be smaller, but the lack of aggravation re: the landlord will be worth it. You'll make do with the smaller sewing space - you sound like you're very positive and able to adapt. I've never lived in a new house either, so I must say I'm envious.

thanks sheila! Luckily my grandma and grandpa live very close by, so I can store some crafty things there. If I need them it takes 2 minutes to drive, and bonus, my grandma can use my craft stuff too, she is the one who taught me "glue gun 101" when I was very little.....if anyone wants to know how to make a snowman out of quilt batting I will get her email address!
