There are two lovely ways to finish devore. One is with a serger`; you just use a small stitch and a closely matched thread... All the seams are small, neat, and won't come undone. Doesn't help with the collar, and this is where the second method comes in. I've used soft velvet ribbon to tape the seams on devore: you sew the garment inside out, trim the seam allowances close, press them open, and sew the ribbon down over them. On the collar, this makes a nice comfortable efinish.

If you have already sewn all the seams so they are on the inside in the traditional manner, try trimming, pressing flat, and taping them with either a narrow matching satin ribbon (you want it about half an inch wide), or a satin bias tape.
