Sewing update

I have been a little busy...

Projects going through the workroom now:

Rehem Regency gown and launder (it's silk crepe de chine: she's always nervous about it, so I tend to do it for her. Delightful and precious customer)

Remake reticule that came out a bit large!

Finish Regency hat 1

Make wrap out of hat silk (we got a 3.44m piece for roll end price!)

Order beads for neclaces for same customer... We ordered some jewelry and it came through... naff. No other word for it. So I'm going to make some out of rose quarts and amythist beads and sterling silver findings. Pretty, fun, and cheaper than the stuff we ordered!

Order twill lining, felt shoulder pads, and fusible and sew-in canvas for another project: toile was fitted for this coat the other day, and I'm just awaiting fabri samples before ordering the fabric.

Hat for same gent. Peaked Royal Artillery type hat.

Two Victorian Bodices, one with petal peplum One Victorian skirt One Victorian hat One tree skirt --> shoulder cape alteration! This just means removing the rather naff ties and fitting some black frogs. I think I need 4 quite large ones. I'll have to look for those on Saturday.

The Regency stuff needs to be done for Sunday, but I don't need the next phase of the Victorian stuff ready until the 8 December. But for Monday evening I need to have the proposal and estimates ready for my Civil Partnership gents, who want tail coats with Regency style collars, black trousers, brocade waistcoats, and ascots. They may also want silk shirts with winged collars. We shall see... Their do isn't until next October, but, like the weddings, it would be nice to get the fabric ordered before Christmas.

I'm now doing 3 weddings or equivalents next year, have a student's final cllection (might be 5 suits!), and some historical stuff booked, so am not accepting any more orders with a start date of before 31 October 2010! We have decorating to do, and I'll be making curtains for the living room...

I also need to get my sister's cushions done.

Goodness Kate it sounds like you will be extra busy!! Next week I will be starting on making a pink party dress for a child---she is 17 months old. I should have started on it before now, but have had sinus headaches. I've just finished doing repairs on 14 kitchen aprons for the RV Park where I live during the Winter. This has taken longer than I thought due to sinus, allergies and volunteer work. Today is the park Thanksgiving Dinner at 2 PM and I am one of the workers. DH makes the tea & coffee and we both get everything ready for when the 150 people walk in the door, plus there are 20 of us who cook & serve the meal. We will do the same thing for the Christmas Dinner. Good luck with getting all the sewing done! Barbara in FL

As usual, Kate makes me look like a slacker. Making a new Hornpipe dance outfit for DGD, hemming ready-made draperies, thinking about making a new holiday outfit....
