I was wondering what type of thread and needle I should use to sew vinyl. My brother wants me to sew a new ski-doo seat cover for him. Anyone have any tips/hints?
Thanks, Brenda

First, use a teflon foot and check to see if the material sticks to the throat plate. If it does apply water soluable stabilizer to it. A leather needle might be best. You'll want to use a fairly heavy weather resistant thread. Mike in Wisconsin
Heavy leather needle, big stitch, and cotton covered upholstery thread.
Personally, I like a roller foot better...
If it were my sled.. I would go with something besides vinyl. Maybe a coated ballistic nylon, sunbrella or somesuch.
What would really sounds neat is ToughTek. Its a heavy duty stuff, with excellent non-slip properties.
