Sheet and bed sizes

Every once in a while, there is a discussion on this group about sizes for sheets. I was poking around online trying to find *flat* flannel sheets (not sets) to make light weight blankets, and wanted to know approximately what each size designation would provide in terms of actual fabric, so I did a little googling and found this site:

has mattress sizes as well as "standard" sheet sizes in the US. NAYY, hope someone else finds it useful, too

Yes, thank you. With a California or Western king sized bed, I have to be aware constantly when buying bedding. Around here, you can't buy the regular king bed except by special order, yet the stores stock bedding for them and often don't have California king sizes. This puzzles me.

I am in FL and a lot of stores here no longer carry linens for regular size beds. The last comforter I bought was for a "queen/regular" and it is much wider than the old ones. Don't know what a fitted sheet would be like but I suppose I will find out soon...the ones I have really need to be replaced.

You are right, it's impossible to find fitted sheets for standard depth mattresses now. Even though there are still millions of regular depth mattresses being used in the U.S. today all that can be bought are super depth ones. :-( I got a set for Christmas a few years ago and had to take the corners in on each corner to get them to fit my bed. I was always waking up with a l-a-r-g-e wrinkle in the middle of the bed. Frustrating.
