Shorts are finished

I finished up the knee shorts for my DGD and gave then to her this afternoon. They are tan with dark brown stitching and embroidery on the front, and they fit perfectly! The next pair will need to be a little bigger because she is growing so fast, but she loves these and so does her mom! Now to dig through the stash and get another pair cut out! Hooray for me! Good for you! It's always good when the recipient likes the item, isn't it?

I'm working on my dress for the wedding next month; I've changed style and fabric, and think I will be happier with my decision. It's been difficult to decide what to wear at a Saturday mid-morning church ceremony; I've never attended a wedding at that time before and have never met the bride-to-be or any of her family or friends, just DGS and his Mom.

I dunno about this 'tan with brown' you're sewing. The girl fashions I see these days are of prints so LOUD they make my teeth hurt. Just for the fun of it, why don't you put your sunglasses on and buy a yard of something dazzling? I was just so happy so see the words " they fit perfectly". Ah me. How wonderful. Happy Dancing for you. Polly

You'd be amazed at how loud shades of brown can be. I should dig out the striped socks that I knitted after boiling samples of yarn with various weeds I found in the yard.

I think they are in the darning basket.

Instead of turning under the edges of the pockets I sewed them down using one of the fancy stitches on my SM. I have a Disney jacket using this method. The dark brown thread made it interesting, and a little wild almost jungle like, I thought. Next time Polly I will use a brighter contrasting thread and see just how wild I can get! Thanks for the idea. Barbara

The pants and shirts I'm making her are from existing stash, so I don't have very many "wild" fabrics. But I am mixing some colors and I thought about applying colored hearts to one of the tops. Joy I like your idea of the strips. Barbara
