slipcover question

Hi,

I am a newbie as far as sewing goes and just a week or so ago we got a used

3 seat sofa from my sister in law. The sofa is in good shape but the fabric is old and doesn't match our room at all so I was hoping to make a slipcover for it. Although I have watched many Trading Spaces episodes I am still to see how they slipcover a sofa from beginning to end...and I am not knowledgeable enough to figure out on my own... Is there any website I can find instructions on how to do it? I haven't been able to find any sites with instructions...every search I tried turned hundreds of sites selling slipcovers but not showing how to make one.. Any tips, help and pointers are appreciated.

I have used a Vogue slipcover "pattern", although it's really just good instructions on how to measure for the particular item, and estimate fabric.
