Something for me!

I just can't leave Lycra alone at the moment!

I downloaded the Karen cardigan and the Yoga pants from Burdastyle. As usual (unfortunately for the less experienced) the instructions leave almost everything to be desired, but ho hum... Never mind, it's not as if I usually read the instructions anyway! And you don't get ANY when you draw your own patterns!

Lurking in my stash for many years has been this nice brown and black marled poly/Lycra velour, and I thought I could make a nice casual suit like pairing of these two garments for working in. Given that I usually work at home, and when I don't I STILL end up crawling on the floor, climbing ladders, or lolling on stairs to pin up hems, something soft and comfy and tidy is a good thing.

For the cardigan I'm going to experiment with a serged finish rather than turning up a hem. I'm still debating with myself about the tie belt. I tend to lose them... And the yoga pants will get elastic rather than a drawstring. I'm thinking of using a single layer for the yoke section and finishing the waistband with a wide elastic turned to the inside.

If you decide to do a tie belt, why not put a loop on each side of the garmet, and just stitch down the belt in the C back. At least it won't get lost.! Barbara in FL
