Spartan 192--bobbin slide plate

Hello. I am an absolute novice at sewing! A friend picked up a Spartan 192 sewing machine at an auction for me. It does work, but is lacking the bobbin switch plate. The manual that comes with it doesn't have a picture of it. I know that Spartan was made by Singer, so do you think Singer would know what I need? Or maybe some kind soul out there can help me? Thanks.

Can you send me a photo of the area you need the part for?

A 192 is a 99 clone (and they are adorable! I have one myself, precious little thing!) and you might find a part off of a 99.

Switch plate was the wrong term. I meant slide plate--the piece that goes over where the bobbin goes (not very technical, huh?) I think the machine is from the late 50s or early 60s. I don't have a digital camera or scanner so I wouldn't be able to send you a picture Ron. Perhaps I should look for parts for a Singer 99???

You are fortunate. A slide plate from a 99 -- or made for a 99 -- will fit, and these have been reproduced. They are a little bit thick for the older machines, but should fit perfectly on your Spartan.
