Stabilizer problem

I've been using the Sulky water soluble stabilizer on top of my fabric when doing free motion embroidery. I like that I can trace my design right onto the solvy and then it washes away. The problem I've been having is that the stabilizer has been gumming up my needles, causing me to have to change them often.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Use Vilene. Much nicer water soluble stabilizer. I get mine from Ella in Florida. It is $5.00/yd and it's 60" wide (no postage charge).

Thanks. I went to the site and I see that it is not clear. Can you still see through it enough to trace a design?

It's like a very fine mesh almost. I trace on it all the time. It has nothing to make the needle gummy. It dissolves in tap water in less than 10 seconds. I hold it on the fabric either with a hoop or double sided tape. I write on it with a #2 pencil or a ball point pen. I even used colored drawing pencils once. $5.00 for a piece 60" x 36", you will love this stuff. It's not stiff like the flims. faye
