Is there any way to draw designs in upholstery vinyl that easy to do, will not rub off, and does not involve overly expensive equipement?

Permanent markers? Sharpies come in all kinds of colors now...

no not for a kid, but for commercial logos such as awnings, gym equipement, etc.
