T-shirt Quilts

Amongst other sewing I managed to sneak in time to make my boys top quilts from their old T shirts. Something they knew I was going to do as we discussed turning their wardrobes out at the end of summer and they were very sad about various T shirts. Odd about these boys and their logos and beloved phrases on T shirts isn't it?

Anyway I got them done for their christmas tree presents (in our house that's the one last present at the end of christmas day, often a book or Dvd or something odd ball or quirky, never very expensive) they unwrapped them yesterday evening and loved them, so now I can show them to you. They are on my face book page or on the personal site under quilts for my boys, if you do want a peek. Claire in Montréal France.

Well done! The boys will love those enduring reminders of the cherished bits of childhood.

My son has several t-shirts (that he tries to continue wearing, unfortunately) that he loves - which are way too small for him. I keep telling myself that I'll make a quilt for him, but haven't done so yet (sigh).

Those are a nice solution to the outgrown shirts. I thought about it for my son, but realized that by the time he is done with his shirts, they are no longer quilt material.
