Taking a bit of time off

Sounds colorful. Maybe an engrossing novel instead of Ben? Something to engage the mind but not tax it? Not to worry, when you're off the injured list, you'll be making up for it. Might as well enjoy the down time.

And it's *really* tender now?

I am, I have a prescription for a sooper-dooper antibiotic.

I would love to read more about B. Franklin. However, I have "Benjamin Franklin - An American Life" by Walter Isaacson, and I loath this book. I can't seem to get past the first two chapters before throwing it down in disgust. Maybe I'll look for another bio.

The wound or the book? ;-}

I think I'm finally going to toss this book in the donation stack and find another BF bio. And, I have a wonderful DVD of "Scarlet Pimpernel" which I've only seen about ten times...

Yeah, feels just exactly like someone took a huge needle and stuck it, then pressed on it real hard, then stuck it again with a needle. ;-}

Actually, it's not bad, the ice seemed to keep things under control, I'm just making sure I don't get an infection now.

Beverly, about to go play with the digitizing software for a while. I can run a mouse one-handed....

His autobiography is interesting, and it's even in an etext form,

since it's in the Harvard Library of Classics, your public library should have it.

I don't know about Beverly, but I much prefer biographies to fiction.

The old one or the new one?

Kinda makes you wonder how it would be if you'd gone directly to the ice (or heat) and skipped the needle and squeezing part?

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I don't know, I just know I *love* this one. It has Anthony Andrews, Jane Seymour and Ian McKellen. ©1982, a "London Film Production".

"Sink me!" ;-)

I'm a big fan of how-to, mysteries, biographies, fiction, non-fiction, ... almost anything except Sci-Fi.

I've read the bios of many of the founding fathers, I just find this particular book booooorrrriiiinnnngggg!

Well, this thing was the size of a very large pea, sitting atop the second joint of my middle finger. It kept getting bumped because it stuck out so far. And the more it got bumped, the larger it got, and larger it got, the more it hurt, and so on.

Anyway, I'm glad I had it looked at, I hope the darned thing is gone for good.

I managed to get another design digitized tonight, so I'm not totally unproductive. :-)

Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Nasty doings, indeed, all this squeezing. I bet Mary Fisher is right, bluish-purplish is the colour of your hand now. Take care and resist the temptation of doing anything, it'll just delay the happy moment you're well again. I know, I was suffering from tendosynovitis in my right wrist this summer, and because I didn't/couldn't rest properly (you tell me how with a newborn to care for) it didn't go away until near Christmas (which was when I twisted the very same wrist to keep myself from falling/slipping down a staircase). Now I'm fine, only that I twisted my left ankle yesterday, falling down, dropping DD. :-( She didn't get hurt, I let go of her only when I hit the ground myself, and then she was only a hand from the ground. She didn't even have a bruise, though she screamed a good deal. Fortunately my AP was there, as was my mother, so we were both taken care of immediately. DD's pupil reflex was checked and declared OK, and we were both administered homoeopathic stuff that helped a good deal. Arnica jelly on my ankle helped, too, but still, not exactly what one might wish for. Hey, my mind is wandering again, sorry. Be a good friend and give your sewing time to Kate. ;-)

Sorry, I'm a bit behind. Should have read the other postings, but anyway... If you still loath the book after two chapters, just chuck it out. No use wasting your precious time on something that'll leave a bad taste on your tongue. ;-)

I've had one on the joint on my right index finger. Just about the time I was trying to decide on a name for it, it went away! I was thinking maybe "Fred."

"Kabul Beauty School: An American Woman Goes Behind the Veil" by Deborah Rodriguez and Kristin Ohlson

An American hairdresser travels to Afghanistan with a relief organization. This was a great read although I found some of Rodriguez's choices and decisions nearly incomprehensible.

I'm about to do that. I had read a good review of this particular book, and I keep thinking it's my fault I can't find the good in it. :-(

I try to avoid naming my lumps and bumps, I find that I get too attached to them. ;-}

Fading to a nice shade of yellow-green now. No infection, so I'm ready to dispense with the dressing and ice and get back to work.

I'm so glad both you and DD are ok, that was very scary!
