Yay at last my posts get through !!! I've been reading here for ages..and I used to post too... but then my posts stopped getting through (wah). Highly frustrating.
I'm Karen from London UK and am a relative newbie to garment making although I've been patchworking for ages. I go to an adult ed class for dress making where the amazing Pam (teacher) seems to be able to correct any of my or my classmates' ooopses. I'm currently making a classic jacket in a very nice Linton Tweed.
My next two projects will be bringing me here for help. I need to make a pair of riding trousers for my soon to be 9 year old daughter using this pattern :

and a pair of skiing trousers for the same young lady using this pattern:

no 2109 the winter/skiing trousers. I'm waiting for the patterns to arrive. I really would appreciate any hints or tips on how to make these garments plus recommendations for both the best "real" fabrics to make them in and what would be good cheaper alternatives to make test garments in. I'm totaly bamboozled by all the hi tech fabrics out there.I'll be baack....
