Thanks for info on Crimplene

Thanks for the information on Crimplene. I must be doing something wrong because I tried to find out about it with Google and didn't get very far.

It sounds like some of the synthetics that we had in the USA about 20-25 years ago. For every virtue (easy to launder, didn't wrinkle) there was a drawback ( hot as as get out), but I sewed and wore a lot anyway.

I am still a great fan of the combination of dacron (polyester?) and cotton. All my husband's shirts are made of that combination and I have never set an iron on any of them. He always looks just as well-pressed at the end of the day as when he started, in contrast to one of our friends who always looks wonderful at the beginning of the day and terribly crumpled in his all cotton shirt by 5 PM.

This is a wonderful news group and I thank all of you for your very good advice.

Is there a corresponding group about cooking? I doubt if there is another group as helpful as this, but where do you go with your cooking questions?

I remember my mum wearing these revolting purple crimplene slacks with an elastic waist. But then at the time I may have been wearing bright lime green over the knee socks with hot pants so I never tease her about them!

As to cooking questions, I find it hard to balance cooking with my craft/sewing attempts. I wish I could sew like I cook. The thing with cooking is, no matter how good you are at it, there's never anything left to show for it once it's eaten. (Decorating the couch with crumbs doesn't count) Fey.
