The Sound of Silence

Try the good old Tom-Sawyer-trick: forbid her, in your most severe manner, ever to touch the 'puter. In cases of extreme stubbornness this works miracles, at least sometimes. SCNR ;-)

Nah, we'll let you keep your Guy Card, Robb.

DH is really good at all those things too. (we're well past diapers with our kids though, THANK GOODNESS!!!!!) I just can't let the man in the laundry room. Bad Things happen when he says "I'm going to toss this in the washer." Other than that, he's really handy to have around.

I will even admit that he taught me to cook. Well, he taught me a few things, encouraged me to run with my Betty Crocker Cookbook and was willing to eat whatever I mangled onto the dining room table the first few years of our marriage. ;) I actually had to look up, in that same cookbook, how to boil an egg. He, on the other hand, invited me to dinner one night while we were still dating. He made sweet and sour chicken completely from scratch. Cut up and de-boned the chicken, made his own sauce, the works. Just a wee bit intimidating. LOL

We usually divide things fairly evenly around here. Although, he's been on the road a lot for work this year. So most things fall to me. That's fine, I figure my part in the deal right now is to keep the wheels turning around here. ;) If something is too heavy for me or requires a ladder (I'm with ya, Beverly, I don't like to climb up on things w/o someone here to dial

911!!) and it can't wait for him to get home, I call my DFIL.

I do have to add that I am a darn fine cook now. When we entertain, the first thing friends ask is what I'm cooking and when do I plan to have dinner on the table. LOL (the same ones keep coming back too so I figure I'm doing an alright job.) At the end of the evening though, DH is the first one with hands in the soapy water. ;) Works out well
