Today

I decided to sew something fun for me! But while spending a goodly amount of time straightening and tidying the sewing room, I came across a navy flannel king-size top sheet DD asked me to repair a couple of weeks ago. The hem had come undone for about 18" along one side. So I threaded up the machine, and fixed the 18", but realized that eventually the entire hem would have come undone. Chain Stitch, bah!!! So I just continued on around the entire sheet. Pressed the top hem and folded it nicely.

Then I threaded the coverstitch machine and hemmed up the formerly-3/4" sleeves on a knit RTW top I bought last spring. It'll be just right for this year. ;-)

Maybe tomorrow I'll get to that something fun for me....

Well, yes it was, but hardly the jewel tone silk shantung jacket I'd *like* to have made. ;-} Now if I can just find that perfect fabric I have seen in my mind's eye....

Oh good!! You got TWO projects done. And you cleared the decks to make room for fun sewing. Good job, Beverly!!!!!!!!!

Oooohhh, cool new site for my bookmarks, thanks!

I'm headed over to a couple of local fabric stores today. The fabric I would like to find was walking away from me recently on a stranger. It was a print of several colors of deep burgundy -forest green - dark royal blue paisley. I know I won't find *that* but I'd love something with several colors in a print. I'm tired of one-color jackets, that's all I've been wearing recently.

Thanks, but, I'm also counting the finished embroidered shirts for DD, so THREE recent projects are completed. ;-)

And, not to highjack your thread about the "serger oops" on the prom dress, but as I was embroidering the third shirt, the machine was humming along as usual, when suddenly I heard, "chunk...chunk...chunk...". Aaack! One of the sleeve hems was under the embroidery field. That is a risk when working on RTW garments, it's really hard to get the hoop in position and have a clear field to stitch, AND have none of the garment pulled under the hoop. I was able to use my stitch shaver to remove the offending stitches, and finish the job. And the hem was not damaged. Whew!
