Up date on my lovely new(old) Precision Made Machine

Ron sent me everything I requested for my machine with in 1 day or placing my order. How's that for service. I got a new belt that DH just installed for me,a nice little walking foot, that works like a dream, a bunch of bobbins and a zipper foot. I have most of the crud cleaned out. Still have to oil her and figure out how to clean the motor so it doesn't smoke. I know that's because of the years of sitting collecting dust and not having the old stuff cleaned out. When I spoke to SIL, again, about it she kept telling me to oil it. I asked when she cleaned out the old lint and she gave me a blank look and told me never. Auntie never told her to do that, Just oil the machine. So all my wonderful friends, how do I clean the motor out? It sews beautifully. Lovely stitch quality and as I said before, goes like sedate lady.I like that because the kind of sewing I plan on using it for is better done a a slower pace. I feel I can have better control that way. Juno

Look at the top of the motor, on the ends, to see if there are lube points. If so, open them and remove any gunked up lube you can with a q-tip. Then add clean Singer motor lube to those tubes, and close. That's about all you can do without actually opening the motor and inspecting the brushes. Probably not necessary anyway, but if the motor doesn't run well, go to wefixit for more info on rehabbing the motor.
