if I didn't, well, my son's karate instructor mentioned that she had a friend who needed a dress made for her daughter to wear in April for her first communion. We finally got together last night - meeting at a neutral place since my son has the flu and I needed a break from the house and sick children. She had explained that she wanted to use the head scarf that had been passed from her grandmother, to her mother, to her as well as the lace from her own wedding dress. When she told me about the pattern, it seemed familiar....it was the same pattern I used to make a friend of mine a dress for *her* daughter to wear for her first communion a few years ago while living in NY...lol.
The problem is that the head scarf is a mustard yellow and the dress lace is white....almost iridescent!! SO, she and I are going to hunt up different dyes to try on the white lace. I have told her that I wouldn't start cutting the dress until we reached colors that we could both agree on. I also suggested that she might want to use the headscarf to cover a prayer book instead because getting a perfect match is NOT something I will ever guarantee unless it's new fabric bought from the same dye lot.
So, that's what I'm doing as well as the sleeping bags, flannel crib sheets, acting as coordinator for a baby quilt, etc. etc.
Larisa, trying to do all of this while taking care of an extremely sick child - Son has the flu....he was in the ER on Valentines day with the same symptoms but the doc dismissed it as the stomach bug and sent us home....now he's running a fever of 103, shivering, coughing and just being miserable. Fortunately, they finally have him on TamiFlu and fluids..and since he's not taking his ADHD meds right now (no real reason since he's out of school), he's eating like a maniac!!
