That would be wise of you. Otherwise you would be overrun with Americans. It's bad enough as it is, isn't it? ;-)

Here, too, and we've been having brush fires already - this is extremely early in the season for us. Several homes have burned, which is also fairly rare. These are homes in subdivisions, not retreats in the woods. Hope you do better, now that winter is coming.

Nah, we don't mind the Americans, we love their funny accents and funny way of spelling. :-)

I know Manly and Balgowlah reasonably well as the spouse was born in the Shire. Love Adelaide, and the bits of SA I've seen but a tad too dry for my liking. How's your water supply?

:-)) I noted that spelling too. I blame computers. I'm normally a good speller but I can't type for nuts and nor do I seem to be able to recognise spelling errors on a screen like I can when I write on paper.

The best spelling goof I've yet seen online was from one of your compatriots who wrote "bocu" for "beaucoup". Like the character in Pogo used to say, I got a couple of good hardy licks out of that 'un.

I reckon the biggest, most common problem is peops type happily away and then hit the 'send' button without first reading what they've typed. Either that or the ends of my fingers suddenly grow to the size of coffee cup saucers when I'm typing! :-)

l find it amazing that people not just on this site but on just about every site are quick to pick on everyone else's mistakes, but these people show a lack of ability to be able to think that maybe the person who made the spelling mistake is vision impaired like myself, but to those who are so quick to pick up on the little things rest assured that l will give my guide dog a biscuit so l can find where his head is to kick his arse for making this mistake.

I have arthritis in both hands and a wrist that has not healed as before even after 12 years. These cause many errors in notes I write, that's why I use the spell-check on the computer. Emily

I'm dyslexic. Without the spell checker, many of my posts would be unintelligible, and some would be just plain daft!

Well, I hope that wasn't aimed at me!

One rule about usenet posting I learned a very long time ago:-

*Never* criticise others spelling, grammar or typo mistakes unless it's germane to the discussion. You *will* make a spelling, grammar or typo mistake in your reply! :-)
