I'm very lucky: I can get proper curved Petersham in black and white in my local shop. I just bought 5m of each colour the other day. If you need some, let me know.

I use elastic a lot too, especially on stretch things, but for some of my posh frock customers, petersham is best. You can also get petersham with bones in to stop it curling up... Or you COULD! Haven't seen it for a while, but then I haven't needed it. :)

Dear Kate,

Hat suppliers usually have petersham in many colors and widths. The fiber content is different than grosgrain ribbon, making is malleable when going around curves. I recently used some to trim a severely tailored long jacket that turned out rather boring until it was trimmed...

KATE !!!!! Bones Brrrr grrrrrr, in my first years of wearing bras there were still little `plastic bones` in them , i hated it . No i will stick to the elastic i can find , rather than something i am not sure i can find. Whenever i pass a haberdashery i do enter!!!! to have a look at their collection , but it doesn`t look like they have it ,,,,, mirjam

The latest Threads describes how to do a variant with elastic Probably not my kind of thing.

This issue is an improvement. I also found a source for mesh of various kinds in one of the ads (Seattle Fabrics)
