What glue to use for zipper repair?

I have zipper and the plastic end piece of the zipper where the slider goes in is detached from the sewed to the fabric.

To paint a clearer picture:

-slider is on the left

-to zip up the zipper, you put the pastic end piece in the left hole of the slider

-the plastic end piece is detached from its base where it is normally held.

Unfortunately it's on a sofa so rather difficult to replace. I tried some super glue that worked to hold it down but it ripped off again as soon as I put the slider on. Anyone know of a specific kind of glue that will repair this?

Just post to this newsgroup for everyone to benefit. Thanks i advance.

Not very many options: you can close off the end of the zipper with glue like shoe goo, or a bartack, or a safety pin. Or, you can have a new zipper put in. There is no way to repair that so that it will function properly. It has to be closed off or replaced.,

This is what I do on long zipper where I needed to cut off the end stop.

Cut off a tooth or two. Snap the tooth between the end teeth or whatever remains. Then melt the pieces of plastic together with a hot pointy thing (soldering iron?). Plastic welding if you will call it that.

Then take some moist (damp not soggy) baking powder and fill in the gaps of the plastic. Apply some Super Glue to the powder. The moist baking powder accelerates the glue's drying and makes a nice fill in the gaps.
